Ms. Batista is a passionate music educator, performer, mentor, and ensemble director. She enjoys teaching all ages and levels as well as mentoring emerging local amateur musicians.
She emphasizes a disciplined approach in learning music, but most importantly strives to foster a true love for music in each of her students. She gives students exposure to a wide range of genres including jazz, classical, blues, folk, and pop, so that students develop a greater artistic range; however, she places a solid emphasis on classical training to develop strong technique. She incorporates theory and ear training in regular lessons and also encourages students to explore composition, accompaniment, and improvisation.
She hosts two studio recitals per year and assists students in numerous other performances throughout the year.
